The MacCrimmon Music
Dunoon, 18 December, 1917
Sir,–I shall be obliged if any of your readers will inform me if the MacCrimmons made use of any notation in teaching bagpipe music to their pupils. If so, are there any samples of it extant, and where can they be seen?
I would like to know if any notation, other than the staff notation, was at any time in use in the Highlands. If there was, are there any copies of it extant, and where can they be seen?–I am, etc.,
