John Grant’s monumental tutor “The Highland Bagpipe Instructor” is now COMPLETELY TRANSCRIBED FOR THE FIRST TIME and available for FREE download. You can click here on Vol. 1, Vol. 2, or Anthology. You can also navigate to the “Works” tab on the main menu and scroll down to the bottom. The files are “pdf”s. In Volume 1 you can right click on the downloaded file and select “Navigation Pane” to access the Bookmarks on the left margin, or you can go to the Table of Contents and click on the chapter you want. In all three volumes a yellow box in the upper left corner takes you to the Table of Contents.
In addition–I have updated and edited Grant’s autobiography “Fo gheas mi Pioba” (“Under the Spell of the Pipes.”) This remarkable work documents his start in piping and progress to Family Piper for the Laird of Abercairney, a mere three-year journey (1896-99). This was Grant’s intended PREFACE to the entire “Highland Bagpipe Instructor,” and thus, rightly should be downloaded as well. It makes fascinating reading!!!
If you download these files, all I ask is that you e-mail me at email@example.com to let me know what state or country you live in so I can see how many people have accessed it. And if you find any typos please report them to me!
Thanks and Enjoy!
